PIX and PagHiper bank slips: what changes?

What is PIX?

The Central Bank of Brazil launched PIX on November 16, 2020. It is an interbank transfer tool with instant settlement and no date or time restrictions. In other words, with a PIX transfer you can send and receive money between two different banks instantly, on any day and at any time of day! Without a doubt, it is a revolution in the Brazilian payment system.

PIX and PagHiper

As of 12/21/2020, PagHiper bank slips can be paid with a PIX transfer! PagHiper implemented this feature in its bank slips, allowing paying customers to make their payments using the PIX QR Code in the header of the bank slip.

The slip layout will remain the same, with only the PIX QR code added as an extra payment option. In other words, it will contain the barcode and the PIX QR Code, so the payer can choose how they want to settle the slip. See the illustrative example below:

If the payer chooses to pay the slip the traditional way, with the barcode, settlement will happen as you already know, on the next business day. But if the payer opts to pay the slip via PIX, the slip’s status will be updated instantly! This way, the store can release the order with complete confidence.

Note that PagHiper stores may have slips approved on weekends, holidays and with no time restrictions. Amazing, isn’t it? What’s more: no additional fee will be charged for settling slips via PIX. The cost will be the same as you currently have on your slips, regardless of whether the payer uses the barcode or the PIX QR code.
